“I like the parts of your face that are covered with skin!”
That’s just one of the hilar lines from the new Anchorman 2 trailer. This time, we catch up with Will Ferrell’s Ron Burgundy and his crack news crew in the ’80s, as 24-hour news stations take over. “I’m going to do the thing that God put Ron Burgundy on this Earth to do,” Ferrell tells us. “Have salon-quality hair and read the news.”
We also get a look at Brick Tamland’s (Steve Carell) new love interest played by Kristen Wiig and her “wet popcorn hair.”
So good to see the boys back. I do hope the comedy lives up to its “Burgundy-er” billing.
In addition to Ferrell, Carell and Wiig, Anchorman 2 features Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Christina Applegate, Harrison Ford, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Rapper Kanye West also shows up in a cameo.
Wearing an Afro wig and brandishing a hockey stick, West appears in a news team brawl. “He was great, and he was funny. He came up with a couple good lines on his own,” director Adam McKay told MTV News in a recent interview.
Kanye the improv comedian. Who’d have thunk it?
